On Saturday, November 12, 2005, our Digital Photography II class
took a field trip to Saltair which is located on the shore of the Great Salt
Lake about 20 miles west of Salt Lake City. Generally speaking, Saltair is
run-down and trashy. It was a photographic challenge.
Here are my best shots...
The weather was mostly cloudy making it difficult to achieve consistency in the lightling, but providing some interesting landscape shots...
Saltair is at the end of the line....
I can't say that the cars were in very good condition
but the views were pretty good since there was no dirty glass in
the windows
The primary pupose of the Saltair Palace these days is the production of bird nest soup
The class
spent
about an hour photographing the bird nests
and other aspects of the architecture

Some other interesting structures in the area.
The power panel?????...
and the yellow thing...
Out in the back there were concrete blocks lending an interesting perspective to Antelope Island
We turned our attention to the weeds and acenery around the rail cars
And then we all photographed the family that came to visit the great Salt Lake.
That's it!
